"You are born for such a time as this, where the campus needs GOD, souls are dying and you have the cure."

"Before I formed thee in the belly, I knew thee: before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. Then said I, Ah, LORD GOD! Behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child. But THE LORD SAID unto me, Say not I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak." - Jeremiah 1:5-7 -

Read through Jeremiah chapter one for yourself. Now place yourself in Jeremiah's shoes. You are just a little older than Jeremiah when he was given his distinct GOD-GIVEN purpose. Purpose is someone or something's reason for existence. There is a purpose for the shoes you wear, which is to protect your feet. There is a purpose for coming to school, which is to get an education. There is a purpose for the car you will GOD'S WILLING drive in the future, which is to transport you from one place to the next at your own convenience (yeah, I am sure that amused you).

The purpose of anything is given by it's maker; it is he or she who decides what it does and why. GOD as your MAKER HAS PLACED purpose in you and though you yearn and cry out to know your distinct purpose, and while I pray you seek GOD'S FACE earnestly for it, be reminded that the summary of your purpose is this, "...to fear GOD and keep HIS COMMANDMENTS..." (Ecclesiastes 12:13).

Interestingly, though you may seek GOD'S WILL for your life, be honest with yourself, there are times that your response is the same as Jeremiah's (if not outwardly, in your heart). To speak the things that GOD HAS PLACED on your heart, knowing that people will ridicule, de-friend, or disown you for it is not a bed of roses, which brings me to Paul's stance concerning his faith. In Romans 1:14-16, Paul makes three claims, "I am a debtor", "I am ready" and "I am not ashamed...". To be a debtor means to owe someone something. To be ready is to be equipped and usually connotes an eagerness to do something. To be unashamed/not be ashamed means not to feel defeated, insulted or embarrassed by something or someone. Throughout these three verses, we see where Paul is referring to his reality of being a debtor to all he will come in contact with (the wise and unwise), ready to preach THE GOSPEL in Rome, a place that knew not GOD. Rome, Paul's homeland, a place where people were aware of his past. A debtor, ready to preach the Gospel, unashamed of it, knowing it is THE POWER OF GOD unto salvation. This university is your Rome; you have been called to speak and act on GOD'S behalf.

Jeremiah's excuse for not wanting to take up the responsibility of being a prophet was his age. What is your excuse for not wanting to take up the responsibility of representing GOD on campus or in different places? What are you afraid of? One of the amazing things about the scriptures is that they are all inspired by our HEAVENLY FATHER and HE KNOWS and addresses all our concerns in scripture. Beyond verse 7 in chapter 1, GOD reassures Jeremiah that HE IS with him, giving him authority, dominion and power, therefore he should not be afraid of their faces. Beloved! Be not afraid of their faces, GOD IS WITH you! That

girl from your high school who knows your past, that guy from hall, that teacher, that "friend", be not afraid, be unashamed and speak.

You are born for such a time as this, where the campus needs GOD, souls are dying and you have the cure. You are born for such a time as this and you have already been

sanctified and therefore prepared for the call. The motto of the movement is "To know CHRIST and to make HIM known". We have a community of believers to help us to make

this a reality. You are born... for... such... a... time... as... this!
