"Whatever we feed on has the ability to multiply; it has the ability to destroy or to build us."

"I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in Me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing. - John 15:5 -

Are you tired of falling? Tired of praying the same prayers over and over? Tired of the stains that constantly form on your white robe because you decided that it would be the last time, but it wasn’t? Besetting sins are habitual sins. These are the sins we find so hard to break, but it is possible. We can’t do it by ourselves though; we need the enabling power of the Holy Spirit. According to Zechariah 4 verse 6, “... ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of hosts.” What we do in this period of isolation is important. In spite of the global pandemic crisis, God has afforded us a privilege and an opportunity to spend more time with Him. It is such a precious time to enter into the secret place, to seek out the desires of the Lord as He searches our own heart. Now is the time where we should guard our heart. It is the time where we should watch what we feed our eyes, ears and mind on. Whatever we feed on has the ability to multiply; it has the ability to destroy or to build us.

If you find yourself struggling with a particular sin in this time, remember that God has given you power over sin by the Holy Spirit. Romans 6 verse 14 tells us, “For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.” Exercise obedience to the Word of God by believing it and applying it to your life. God makes a way out whenever we are tempted, and we have a responsibility to resist the devil so that he will flee. Resist the enemy in this season and submit to God. Idle isolation bears rotten fruits while isolation with the Lord bears good fruits that you can share with others. It bears fruits that can produce seeds that will germinate. We urge you to reach out to someone if you feel overwhelmed, if you find yourself struggling more than usual. Most importantly, isolate with God. Meet Him in the secret place.
